About
Gezonde Prikkels is a social design project focused on integrating the softer, intangible aspects of health—such as social connection, mental well-being, and safety—into spatial decision-making. By engaging stakeholders from urban planning, policy, and health organizations, Gezonde Prikkels seeks to highlight how every component of a living environment influences well-being. The project uses interviews, exhibitions, and interactive tools to make these factors visible, bridging the gap between abstract health concepts and everyday planning processes. Ultimately, Gezonde Prikkels aims to spark deeper dialogue about health’s role in shaping communities, inviting everyone to think critically about how design decisions impact quality of life.
My Contribution
In Gezonde Prikkels, I designed the project’s visual identity, developed the website, and created hands-on conversation tools for stakeholder interviews. I also built an exhibition for Dutch Design Week, translating complex research findings into a tangible installation that prompted visitors to reflect on health’s intangible qualities. To keep the project organized, I documented our progress in shared digital workspaces, facilitating smooth collaboration. This experience honed my skills in Creativity & Aesthetics through iterative prototyping, Technology & Realization via exhibition builds, and User & Society by involving diverse communities in the design process. Balancing practical constraints, stakeholder expectations, and conceptual depth taught me to bridge visionary ideas with actionable outcomes while maintaining open communication across the project’s various phases.
