About
The Ecodesk project is an innovative initiative aimed at integrating technology within urban green spaces to enhance the working experience for office workers and students. Ecodesk is an outdoor workspace designed to accommodate up to six people and is equipped with facilities such as lighting, Wi-Fi, and power sockets powered by solar panels. The design focuses on environmental sustainability, featuring an elevated structure that allows grass to grow underneath and includes energy conservation measures like automatic light shutoff. Additionally, the workspace collects usage data to optimize its placement in urban areas, contributing to the Smart Cities initiative by promoting productivity, mental health, engagement with nature, and sustainability.
My Contribution
I was primarily responsible for the environmental impact research, conducting literature reviews, observational research, and interviews to understand the implications of electronic waste. Additionally, I took charge of designing and building the physical prototype, which involved constructing the wooden structure and integrating the necessary technology for the project. My responsibilities extended to the visual aspects, where I designed posters, signs, the logo, and the project video. Furthermore, I managed the documentation and organization of all project assets on a shared Notion page, facilitating smooth collaboration and access to resources throughout the project. These tasks allowed me to enhance my skills in various domains, including Creativity & Aesthetics, Technology & Realization, User & Society, and Business & Entrepreneurship.
