About

The “Experientiality of Repair” project, undertaken with the Transformative Practices squad, aimed to bridge the gap between informal repair knowledge and formal design education. This initiative focused on developing an interactive installation that highlights the environmental impact of electronic waste and the value of repair culture. By utilizing various research methods, the project sought to educate and engage the public on the significance of repairing rather than discarding electronic devices. The project culminated in a demonstrator that embodied these principles, showcasing practical and theoretical insights gathered throughout the research phase.

My Contribution

In the “Experientiality of Repair” project, my contributions were multifaceted. I conducted literature research, observational research, and interviews to understand the environmental impact of electronic waste. Additionally, I was responsible for designing and building the interactive demonstrator, which included collecting vacuum cleaners and constructing the wooden structure. My role extended to creating all visual elements of the project, such as posters, signs, the logo, and the project video. I also managed stakeholder interactions, including organizing meetings and gathering insights from repair café volunteers. Furthermore, I documented and organized all project assets and documents on a shared Notion page, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration within the team. These responsibilities allowed me to enhance my skills in various areas, including Creativity & Aesthetics, Technology & Realization, User & Society, and Business & Entrepreneurship.
